Who are the Members of this group.

The Callahan Parent Teacher Forum is comprised of the parents & teachers of the children attending our school. The purpose of the group is to provide a community of parent volunteers who support the work of teachers and staff in educational programs and fund-raising to support enrichment programs for the school community. The Parent Teacher Forum also support teachers & administrators in their efforts to provide the best services possible for our children.

Why Should I Belong to the PTF?

Thinking back for a moment about why I belong to the W.L. Callahan Parent Teacher Forum. The answer seems obvious. The PTF provides services that enhance my childs education. It gives me a more direct voice in what happens at the school. And I enjoy interacting with the kids, working with other parents, and accomplishing things that truly make a difference. The real question that I face as PTF chair person is why every parent isnt involved.

Why Family Involvement?

Students spend 15% of the year in school and 33% of the year sleeping. This leaves 52%

of the year to provide opportunities to enhance their education. Where are they during

this 52% of the year? At home and in the community! That is why it is critical for schools

to partner with families and community to support their educational goals.
